Arrive at Balmaceda airport and set out on the 5-hour drive South along the Carretera Austral to Puerto Tranquilo. Throughout the drive, you will seethe signature glaciated lakes, towering mountain peaks, and dramatic valleys that this remote region of Chile is known for. Arrive at your comfortableroom in the enchanting village of Puerto Tranquilo, on the shores of Lake General Carrera, the second largest in South America after Lake Titicaca.

Today after breakfast, you will kayak the marble caves with a small group for about three hours. Learn geological theories about the formation of these unique cliffside architectural caves created along the shores of Lake General Carrera. View how the stone has been eroded by the movement of water and strong wind throughout the years, while you kayak the calypso-blue waters. Once back on shore, a well-earned lunch will be served. During the afternoon, your guide will bring you to the east on a less driven and stunning road inside Exploradores valley, up to a private park. There you will see the humid forests and their magnificent details with a magnifying glass. Frogs, insects, leaves, fungus, and an impressive variety of habitants of the local ecosystem, a tiny world to discover during this afternoon. Back to Puerto Tranquilo for dinner and accommodation.

Early departure from Puerto Tranquilo to Bahía Exploradores (1.5 hours) to board a cruise to San Rafael Glacier. Full-day navigation with breakfast, lunch and coffee included, sailing through the Chilean fjords, and arriving at San Rafael Lagoon at noon. Possibility of getting closer to the icebergs and appreciating them for approximately one hour. The boat then returns to Bahía Exploradores around 5 PM and then we have to drive approximately 3 hours back to Mallin Colorado Ecolodge. Accommodation and dinner in Mallin Colorado.

After breakfast, you start a horseback riding or a local hiking inside the property of Mallin Colorado, with amazing views over several lakes and the mountain range called Cordón Contreras. After 4 hours of a privileged private hike, lunch awaits for you in the terrace of the lodge. In the afternoon, you will visit a neighbour agroturism, a small iniciative on the shore of the lake. Organic vegetable garden and awesome cute sheeps and hens will show you how locals live in these latitudes. Dinner and accommodation in Mallin Colorado.  

Today after check out in Mallin Colorado, it is time to visit Puerto Guadal, a small vibrant 900-inhabitant village on the shores of Lake General Carrera. Called la Perla del lago, Puerto Guadal is settled in a privileged place with a fantastic microclimate and spectacular views to the Northern Icefields through the emerald-colored lake. The visit starts in the old gold mine and its antique machines and tunnels, then you continue visiting the cemetery with the most beautiful view in the world and the lighthouse, By midday lunch will be provided in a local restaurant and it will continue a visit to the artisan women association to buy some local souvenirs and get in touch with a group of nice and happy women. Finally, the day tour continueswith a hike up to Cascada El Maqui and having some relax time up the waterfall with the most amazing view. After that, sunset will be appreciated with some appetizers from a surprise place. Lodging in Mirador de Guadal.

After breakfast, begins a super nice drive to Puerto Bertrand and along river Baker. You will stop to visit the Confluence of river Baker and river Nef, a mythic place where different colors of water get together and you can feel the power of nature in this extraordinary waterfall. The day continues further south to visit Patagonia National Park, a completely different ecosystem, combining the Patagonia steppe with mountains and forests, full of guanacos roaming freely inside the park. An interesting visit to the Conservation Museum awaits you in the park headquarters and then a short trail to river Chacabuco and its hanging bridge will complete the day. Outdoor pic nic lunch will be provided. Lodging in Mirador de Guadal.

After breakfast and early check out, your guide will be driving to Bahia Murta for a bike tour in the morning, visiting less driven paths with amazing views of a different corner of lake General Carrera. After that, coming back for lunch in a small cute restaurant in Puerto Murta where her owner grows and uses all kind of local ingredients to cook, like wild berries jam. In town also you can see how they work lamb wool sweaters and wood furnitures. In the afternoon, continue enjoying the Carretera Austral in direction to Coyhaique, where you stay for one night. Coyhaique accommodation and farewell dinner.

Your guide will bring you back to the Balmaceda airport in a 1 hour drive to take your flight back, either to Puerto Montt, Santiago or Punta Arenas.
